WG-21: Computed Tomography
Develop and maintain the CT-specific objects for the DICOM Standard in the domains of nD X-Ray imaging, technical reports, dose information and clinical information, which accompany a patient general CT procedure. These include (but are not limited to) acquisition, processing, storage, communication, display and reporting. The CT group pursues opportunities for further enhancements in the area of clinical interoperability for CT.
Current Supplements, Work and Objectives:
- CP-2322 “Record Vendor-specific CT Image Quality Reference Parameters”
- CP-2220 “Differentiate acquisition techniques for RT 3D CBCT imaging”
- Radiation Dose Summary
- How To guidance for writing a CP.
Challenges and Opportunities (Environment):
- Cooperation with other WGs for finding solutions beyond CT.
Future Roadmap and Objectives (Committee Direction):
- Continue improving the DICOM Standard in the realm of CT, accommodating new technologies (e.g., photon counting detector) and functionalities (e.g., multi-energy) in CT.
Past Work:
- CP-2295 “KVP attribute in CT Image Module may also be filled in MultiEnergy case”
- CP-2349 “Relax Multi-energy CT Rescale Type constraint”
- CP-2370 “Orientation guidance for vertical CT gantries”
- CP-2393 “Update CT Scanning Length Definition”
